A Curious Group of Hotels is a privately owned collection of chic hotels and restaurants for the culturally curious; including Cowley Manor in the Cotswolds, L’Hotel in Paris, Canal House in Amsterdam, and Portobello Hotel in London.

Located in the heart of the Jordaan, the cultural centre of Amsterdam, Canal House is a 23 bedroom boutique hotel located on the Keizersgracht and comprised of seventeenth century merchants' houses.
Centred in 21st century Amsterdam, the design is glamorous, contemporary and comfortable but recalls the rich history of the building and the surrounding area. With a large garden, Gym and Summer House for private gatherings, Bar and Great Room, there are plenty of spaces to drink, relax and celebrate.

 

For Canal House Amsterdam we are looking for a Reservations Manager ( FT)                                              What will I be doing: doing?                                                                                                                                    Send out offers and confirmations of reservations by e-mail or letter.                                                                    Ensure quality checks, updating and follow-up of all reservations.                                                                        Analyzing revenue sending Daily Flash & Yield Report with suggestions.                                                              Together with GM responsible of hitting room revenue budget.                                                                              Perfect knowledge of the hotel, including facilities and historical background. background.                                  Exact knowledge and correct application of various room rates.                                                                          Correct handling of all reservations related back-up documents                                                                          Handle special projects delegated by the Deputy/Sales Manager.                                                             
Develop and maintain high-level, personalized booker contacts.                                                                            Focus and sharing possible sales leads to the Sales Department who is based in UK.                                            
Using correct selling strategy in order to maximize upselling of hotel rooms.                                                    Cross selling F&B and Meeting Room for each opportunity.                                                                        Knowledge of current activities in Amsterdam and Hotel Market.
Daily follow-up on any no-shows, late cancellations, traces and waitlist bookings.
Processing all incoming e-mails and telephone calls.                                                                                              You  will interact frequently with Guests with the intention of earning repeat & expanded business.  
Financially related tasks such as preparing pro forma, handling of commission, etc.
Following up on daily tasks such as checking arrivals, following up on activities, etc.
You work closely with the Front Office.                                                                                                                  Attending training, visiting OTA’s, visiting competitors.                                                                                               

What we offer you!
Salary will be matched to your experience.                                                                                                                This is a FT role which means 38 hrs. Per week, 25 Holidays per year.                                                              In consultation with you, attending several Trainings per year to develop your skills.
Extra Benefits:                                                                                                                                                            After 1 years you will get an additional 1 day holiday per year.                                                                              After 3 years you will get an additional 2 days holiday per year.                                                                              After 5 years you will get an additional 3 days holiday per year.                                                                              After 7 years you will get an additional 4 days holiday per year.                                                                              After 10 years you will get an additional 5 days holiday per year. We also offer a Birthday Day which will be allocated to you by your HOD on your Rota as close as possible to your birthday as an additional day off (holiday).
 

What are we looking for?                                                                                                                                        Good organizational and administration skills.                                                                                                          Knowledge of the Amsterdam Hotel market.                                                                                                      Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.                                                                                      Commitment to delivering a high level of guest service.                                                                                        Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.                                       Confident telephone manner.                                                                                                                                  Excellent grooming standards.                                                                                                                      Demonstrated previous experience working in a reservations environment.                                                  Excellence in English and Dutch language.                                                                                                              Passion for Hospitality.                                                                                                                                              Analytic mindset, revenue background is an advantage.                                                                                            Knowledge of PMS is an advantage preferably Opera.                                                                                              Relevant work experience within Reservations or Front Office is an advantage,                                                      You know perfectly how to respond to the wishes of our guests and even exceed them. In addition, you use all your sales skills to achieve the highest possible up and cross sell and to get as many direct bookings as possible confirmed.
